Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Saugata Gupta serves as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Marico Limited. He joined Marico in 2004 as the Head of Marketing and was elevated to CEO of India Business in 2007. In 2014, he took over as Managing Director of the Company.
A dynamic leader with more than 34 years of experience, Mr. Gupta is renowned for his transformative leadership, driving Marico to significant growth and expanding its global presence. He has helped transform Marico into a high performing business with consistent, profitable and sustainable growth and best-in-class governance. His leadership has fostered a culture of transparency, integrity and accountability, ensuring Marico's compliance with international standards and strengthening investor confidence. During his tenure, Marico has scaled up its presence to over 25 countries spread across emerging markets of Asia, Africa and Middle East.
Over the years, Marico has been recognised across various forums for its commitment to sustainability and accountability in business operations. Marico has been featured in the ‘LEADERSHIP’ category on the IFC-BSE-IiAS Indian Corporate Governance Scorecard as assessed by IiAS for 5 consecutive years. He is also associated with Delhivery as an Independent Director and the Chairman of its Stakeholders Relationship Committee and Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and a member of the Merger and Acquisition Committee.
Mr. Gupta is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and holds a chemical engineering degree from IIT Kharagpur.


Pawan Agrawal

Pawan Agrawal, Group CFO and CEO: International Business (Rest of South Asia and SE Asia)
Pawan Agrawal is the Group CFO and CEO- International Business (Rest of South Asia and SE Asia) and is responsible for leading the business of Marico Southeast Asia and Marico Bangladesh.
Pawan Agrawal has been entrusted with the organization’s financial well-being. He has played a key role in driving business growth, enhancing operational performance and supporting the development of long-term financial strategies. With more than 2 decades of experience, Pawan has worked across various finance verticals, including Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations, Taxation, Commercial and Corporate Governance functions.
Pawan joined Marico in 2004 as the Regional Operations Manager for the South Sales Division in Hyderabad. Over the past 20 years, Pawan has contributed extensively to several key areas in Finance and Business while handling scale & complexity. He has been instrumental in executing Marico's diversification strategy, notably facilitating the acquisitions of digital first brands such as Beardo, Just Herbs, True Elements and Plix.
Pawan was awarded CFO of the Year in the Consumer Sector category at the 3rd Edition of the CII CFO Excellence Awards 2023‐24. Pawan was also felicitated with The Financial Express CFO of the year Award 2020, under the Large Enterprises Category in Manufacturing Sector. Under his leadership, Marico has been ranked in the ‘LEADERSHIP’ category on the IiAS Indian Corporate Governance Scorecard for four consecutive years and was awarded ‘Best Governed Company in Listed Segment: Medium Category’ at the 23rd ICSI National Awards for Excellence in Corporate Governance 2023.
Before joining Marico, Pawan worked with Eveready Industries (I) Limited for four years, focusing on Internal Audit and Sales Commercial functions. Pawan is a Chartered Accountant and holds a B.Com (Hons) degree from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta.


Dr Shilpa Vora

Chief R&D Officer
Dr Shilpa Vora is the Chief R&D Officer and is a part of the executive committee at Marico Limited. She joined Marico in 2022 and brings with her over 28 years of corporate R&D experience across multiple categories. At Marico, she leads the Global R&D Product and Packaging Development, Consumer Insights, Regulatory and Central Quality Assurance teams.
Dr Shilpa has spent a significant part of her career with Unilever, rising through the corporate ladder while working with cross-functional teams. She has held roles including Global R&D Head Hygiene, Global R&D Head Tea, and finally Global R&D Head Lifebuoy and Skin Cleansing South Asia.
Dr Shilpa completed her PhD in Immunology from University of Cincinnati, USA, and is Post-Doctoral Fellow from Children's Hospital Research Foundation, Cincinnati.


Amit Bhasin

Chief Legal Officer and Group General Counsel
Amit Bhasin is Chief Legal Officer and Group General Counsel for Marico Limited. He is part of the Executive Committee of Marico Limited and is responsible for Legal and Corporate Affairs Function for Marico Group both in India and International markets. Amit Bhasin is member of Governance Committee of Marico and also anchors Corporate Social Responsibility function of Marico.
Amit has over 22 years of experience in Corporate Legal, Legal Business Partnering, Corporate Compliances and Governance. He has worked across organizations in consumer sector. Prior to joining Marico, Amit Bhasin was associated with Hindustan Unilever Limited as General Manager – Legal and Corporate Secretarial for over 13 years. He has handled multiple roles and worked on several M&A transactions and corporate actions for Unilever including the acquisition of GSK business. He was part of several global working networks for Unilever in the areas of Competition Law, Governance and Compliance.
Amit plays an active role in the advocacy efforts for FMCG industry and is part of several industry bodies. He is member of FICCI FMCG Committee and Chair for FICCI FMCG Committee for Legal Metrology and CCPA. He is member of Executive Committee of Indian Beauty & Hygiene Association (IBHA), Executive Committee Member of MCIA FMCG User Council.
Amit is a Law Graduate and a certified Chartered Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) . He has also earned a post-graduation certification in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom in 2011.


Amit Prakash

Chief Human Resources Officer
Amit Prakash is the Chief Human Resource Officer at Marico Limited and leads the People agenda, anchored in a strong purpose-driven culture, digital agility, and inclusive leadership.
Amit joined Marico in 2015 as the Head of Human Resources - India Business and is responsible for the overall organizational development through people management practices, culture-building initiatives, developing and strengthening functional leadership capabilities.
Over the years Amit has led various transformational programmes at Marico. He spearheaded the evolution of "The Marico Way", embedding the company’s core values into everyday member experience and decision-making. He institutionalized inclusion frameworks with gender-neutral policies, hiring, and progressive benefits for a thriving environment. Under his leadership, Marico has been recognized among the Best Employers of India by Kincentric and featured among the top desirable FMCG brands by talent platforms.
With over 25 years of experience across diverse industries, Amit has held leadership roles across reputed organizations like Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, ITC Limited, LG Electronics, and Delphi, where he drove transformation, talent strategy, and organizational development at scale.
Amit holds a Bachelors' degree in Science from Hansraj College and has done MPM (HR) from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management.


Ashish Goupal

Chief Executive Officer – India Core Business
Ashish Goupal is the Chief Executive Officer – India Core Business and is responsible for the integrated business structure in India across categories of Foods, Personal care and Skin care
Prior to this, Ashish has led the company’s international operations across multiple geographies, including Bangladesh, South-East Asia, the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), South Africa and Exports Markets. Within the Marico Group, he plays a pivotal role as a member of the Executive Committee and serves on the Board of Marico Bangladesh (MBL).
His journey with Marico began in 2006 when he joined Marico India as Area Sales Manager. Over the years, Ashish consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership and was subsequently appointed as the Managing Director of Marico Bangladesh Limited (MBL) in July 2018. Under his leadership MBL with listings on the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges since 2009, has rapidly emerged as one of the most dynamic and fast-growing FMCG companies in Bangladesh. In February 2022, Ashish assumed the role of COO for the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) business, as well as New Country Development (NCD) business, in addition to his responsibilities in Bangladesh. In October 2023, Ashish assumed role of CEO International Business and was responsible for driving Marico’s business and people growth journey in international markets. Effective April 01, 2025 he has transitioned as the CEO- India Core Business.
Throughout his impressive 18+ years at Marico, Ashish excelled and delivered remarkable results in various domains, including Revenue Management, Brand Management, New Product Development, Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing, and Demand Planning. He has successfully introduced new brands and spearheaded transformative initiatives in areas such as Business Transformation, Talent value proposition, Governance & Sustainability, and Cost Management.
Under Ashish's leadership, Marico Bangladesh achieved the significant milestone of crossing the 1000 Crores business mark. The company also earned numerous industry accolades for its outstanding brands, exemplary corporate governance, and contributions to corporate social responsibility in Bangladesh.
He holds a degree from the Jamanalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and started his career as a management trainee with the global consumer durable leader, Samsung, in 2004.
Beyond his commitments at Marico, Ashish has held positions on the boards of prominent organizations, including the American School of Dhaka, FICCI Bangladesh, and the Indo-Bangla Chamber of Commerce, further exemplifying his dedication to community and industry involvement.


Vrijesh Nagathan

Chief Information & Digital Technology Officer
Vrijesh Nagathan joined Marico Limited in 2022 as the Chief Information & Digital Technology Officer. He is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience of over 25 years in IT Leadership and Business Transformation, Project Management, Shared Services, Business Planning, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, across the FMCG, IT consulting, Automobile and Engineering industries.
Having joined Unilever in 2007 as a Senior Systems Manager, Vrijesh ascended through the ranks to become the Head IT of B2B Commerce Platforms. He led the B2B commerce IT initiatives across Unilever globally, managing IT / technology for areas across Supply Chain & Procurement, Commercial, B2B-commerce, Customer self-service Apps and POS solutions among others. He was associated with them for around 11 years on several assignments across India, Europe, UK, Africa & ASEAN.
He moved on to join Coca Cola in 2018, where he served as the Chief Information Officer, India & Southwest Asia, for three years with additional responsibility, as the Shared Services Lead. During his tenure, he led the IT Strategy and Execution for the overall Coca-Cola ecosystem across the India & Southwest Asia Business Unit. He was also responsible for the IT Roadmap, Deployment & Governance across 18 different franchise bottlers. In his role, he was responsible for transforming the way business is run and moving the needle on key technology adoption.
He began his career as an engineer with Kirloskar Electric Company and Widia (I) Limited and has also been associated with Ashok Leyland as Assistant Manager in 2003 and Bristlecone as Senior Consultant in 2004.
Vrijesh did his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering in 1998 from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal and has completed his MBA in Operations Management from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, Pune. His interests include following the Battery technology, Green Energy, Sustainability & World-without-waste initiatives.


Nitin Kathuria

Chief Supply Chain Officer - India
Nitin Kathuria is the Chief Supply Chain Officer – India, responsible for end-to-end Supply Chain for India business. This includes Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics & New Product Development (NPD) functions.
He is driving supply chain transformation by building agile value chain leveraging technology, cost leadership, strengthening process capabilities and embedding sustainable practices. His leadership has also focused on building a robust talent pipeline within the function.
Nitin has been a pivotal figure at Marico Limited since joining the company as a management trainee in 2002. Over the past two decades, he has ascended through various strategic roles, spanning across Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations.
He began his journey in Marico in sourcing Agri-Commodities before moving to Non-Agri Procurement & Planning. He later took on the role of Cluster Manufacturing Head for Edible Oils, overseeing operations for Saffola franchise. Nitin also had a stint in Sales as Head – Out of Home (OOH) Business. Prior to his current role, he served as EVP & Head – Supply Chain, overseeing Procurement and Supply Chain for Marico’s India business.
He played a pivotal role in institutionalizing MarVal (Marico Value Enhancement) function within Marico, which is driving value generating programs year on year. Throughout his journey, Nitin has exemplified leadership, strategic vision, and a commitment to integrating business growth with social responsibility, making him an invaluable asset to Marico Limited.
Nitin’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor's degree in Dairy Technology from National Dairy Research Institute and he is a post graduate in Agri-Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
A National Yoga Gold Medallist, Nitin is passionate about fitness and sports.


Akash Banerji

Executive Vice President & Head, Digital Transformation and Beauty & Styling Digital Business
Akash Banerji is the Executive Vice President and Head of the Beauty & Styling Digital Business Portfolio at Marico, where he holds P&L responsibility for Beardo, Just Herbs, and Kaya Products. He also leads the central functions of Media, Digital Transformation, and Corporate PR and serves on Marico's Executive Committee.
With over 22 years of experience across FMCG, Media, Consumer Tech, and E-commerce, Akash is a business builder launching breakthrough brands, innovating with intent, and unlocking bold thinking through executional excellence. He blends strategic foresight with a data-driven, storytelling mindset to challenge the status quo and open new frontiers of growth.
He began his journey as a Management Trainee at PepsiCo before joining Marico, where he started with a successful sales stint and then joined marketing to drive innovation and scale for iconic brands like Parachute and Nihar. At Star TV, he played a pivotal role in the turnaround of Star Plus and later, as the Head of Business Development across the Middle East and Africa, spearheaded exponential growth in emerging markets. He returned to India to lead the launch of Star Sports, transforming it into the country's largest sports network.
Akash played an instrumental role in the launch of Hotstar, where he built the platform brand and incorporated new tech capabilities from the ground up and then with the launch of VOOT at Viacom18, where he drove profitability, strategic digital partnerships, and board-level alignment. Stints with Amazon Prime and Tata Group followed, he led and honed his expertise in e-commerce, consumer loyalty, subscription management, retail media, and large-scale tentpole events like Prime Day.

Nitin has been a pivotal figure at Marico Limited since joining the company as a management trainee in 2002. Over the past two decades, he has ascended through various strategic roles, spanning across Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations.
He began his journey in Marico in sourcing Agri-Commodities before moving to Non-Agri Procurement & Planning. He later took on the role of Cluster Manufacturing Head for Edible Oils, overseeing operations for Saffola franchise. Nitin also had a stint in Sales as Head – Out of Home (OOH) Business. Prior to his current role, he served as EVP & Head – Supply Chain, overseeing Procurement and Supply Chain for Marico’s India business.
He played a pivotal role in institutionalizing MarVal (Marico Value Enhancement) function within Marico, which is driving value generating programs year on year. Throughout his journey, Nitin has exemplified leadership, strategic vision, and a commitment to integrating business growth with social responsibility, making him an invaluable asset to Marico Limited.
Nitin’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor's degree in Dairy Technology from National Dairy Research Institute and he is a post graduate in Agri-Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
A National Yoga Gold Medallist, Nitin is passionate about fitness and sports.

Akash Banerji is the Executive Vice President and Head of the Beauty & Styling Digital Business Portfolio at Marico, where he holds P&L responsibility for Beardo, Just Herbs, and Kaya Products. He also leads the central functions of Media, Digital Transformation, and Corporate PR and serves on Marico's Executive Committee.
With over 22 years of experience across FMCG, Media, Consumer Tech, and E-commerce, Akash is a business builder launching breakthrough brands, innovating with intent, and unlocking bold thinking through executional excellence. He blends strategic foresight with a data-driven, storytelling mindset to challenge the status quo and open new frontiers of growth.
He began his journey as a Management Trainee at PepsiCo before joining Marico, where he started with a successful sales stint and then joined marketing to drive innovation and scale for iconic brands like Parachute and Nihar. At Star TV, he played a pivotal role in the turnaround of Star Plus and later, as the Head of Business Development across the Middle East and Africa, spearheaded exponential growth in emerging markets. He returned to India to lead the launch of Star Sports, transforming it into the country's largest sports network.
Akash played an instrumental role in the launch of Hotstar, where he built the platform brand and incorporated new tech capabilities from the ground up and then with the launch of VOOT at Viacom18, where he drove profitability, strategic digital partnerships, and board-level alignment. Stints with Amazon Prime and Tata Group followed, he led and honed his expertise in e-commerce, consumer loyalty, subscription management, retail media, and large-scale tentpole events like Prime Day.
An MBA from FMS Delhi, Akash combines creative energy with analytical depth and a relentless drive for purposeful, profitable growth.
